Professional Background

Mary Yazdzik began her nursing career as a physicians' office float for Mercy Med Care in Scranton, PA. Her responsibilities included patient intake, vital signs, medical histories, physical assessments, ECGs, phlebotomies, vaccine administration, and maintaining medical supplies. She subsequently spent six months as a relief night supervisor at a long-term care facility, where she directed the care of LPNs and CNAs, and was responsible for the physical assessments, wound care, and medication administration of a mostly geriatric population. The majority of Mary's nursing years have been spent in hospital settings, where she worked on multiple units including Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU, Same Day Surgery, and Outpatient Clinics. She has also spent 10 years as a per diem/travel nurse, working primarily on Telemetry and ICU Stepdown units, as well as Orthopedics and Long Term Acute Care.
